DISHWASHERS
We have found that dishwasher detergent tablets
are too powerful for a modern dishwasher.
This appears to be because a modern dishwasher
uses very little water, hence the small rinses
may not remove all the detergent, and this
holds the dirt in suspension, on your dishes.
Minimum use of a good quality powder such as
Finish is recommended, and it is cheaper.
Rinse-aid is usually recommended for a modern
dishwasher because it aids the drying process
by making water slip off the dishes.
The use of a dishwasher descaling product is not
a very effective product. It will not unblock a
machine that has a problem.
WASHING MACHINES
Use only the minimum possible quantity of
high quality detergent. A cheap brand has
been found recently to be too abrasive and
damage the drain pump.
OVENS
The use of caustic oven cleaners is not
recommended. There are some good quality
non-caustic versions available.
